april

Spring has sprung! It’s been a long time coming but something has changed this week. (Probably that it’s stopped raining!) There are lots of tiny leaves coming out, more spring flowers are emerging and the air just smells different. This month the moon is a ‘pink moon’ but this actually refers to the pink spring flowers that are coming out to say hello.

I’m also aware that I haven’t been my usual punctual self by making sure this goes lives on 1st April. Things have been a bit manic over the last few weeks and I have no idea where the end of March actually went! We moved out of our home in order to start renovation work and are finding a new routine in different surroundings. It’s amazing how much headspace that all takes up; I know that the next few months will be challenging and I need to remember the end goal and not get sucked into the details all the time.

I attended a lecture recently and one of the key takeaways from it was: “one thing at a time”. It really resonated with me. We just need to remember that we are all human and things just take time. The to-do-list will always be there, so it’s ok to pause and just do things one at a time.

March was an exciting month for me as I did two collaborative projects, a foraging walk with We Are Woven and a Seed-to-Plate day with The Rowan Tree. It was so great to be out in nature and connect with our community, learning news skills together and sharing a seasonal meal too. We are running these again this month as we capture what is in season right now and really get to learn what it is like to be a market gardener on Gower. I really hope to meet some more of you in the woods or fields soon!

I’m so grateful to have such wonderful people to collaborate with. It’s been such a pleasure to create these events together so that we can deepen our connection with nature and our community.

Dates for your diary this month:

Gower Foraging Clwb - Saturday 15th April (four spaces left)

Seed to Plate - Saturday 29th April (three spaces left)

Wishing you a wonderful April and hope to see you soon!

much love,

jasmin xx
